Brazil is the country with the largest number of people killed by the new flu, says Health Ministry 
Mortality rate, however, is lower than in six other countries. Kill the virus in Brazil to reach 557, says report. 

The Health Ministry said on Wednesday (26), in a statement that Brazil already has the biggest number of people killed by the new flu. Until the 22th day of August, 557 deaths were observed by the H1N1 virus. According to the report, however, the mortality rate in Brazil (0.29) is lower than in six other countries. This is because the percentage of deaths is calculated on the amount of inhabitants in each country. 
 
The ministry also stressed that countries adopt different intervals for updating the number of deaths. The latest data from the United States, for example, refer to August 15. Also according to the report, the countries with the highest mortality rates are in the southern hemisphere, because of the winter.
